Talent/Producer/Program Creator) is a native South Carolinian who spent much of her childhood growing up in the low country. Ms. Hursey’s list of credits from stage to screen is outstanding. She is very familiar to television audiences, who most recognize her as Al’s fiancée, Ilene, on the long running ABC hit “Home Improvement”. However, diehard fans still think of her as Paula Carson on “Days of Our Lives” or Murray’s daughter, on the “Mary Tyler Moore Show”. Sherry was featured in over 100 commercials when she started, and has guest starred in over thirty popular television shows, ranging from “Happy Days” to “The Waltons” to “Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman” to “Touched by an Angel” to “NYPD Blue” to “CSI” to “Judging Amy” and “Nip/ Tuck”.

Ms. Hursey has starred in numerous television pilots, four television series, and over a dozen movies for television. Included in her favorites, are working with James Garner in the “Rockford Files-I Love LA”, the award winning “Friendly Fire” with Carol Burnett, “Hit and Run”, “Lyin’ Eyes”, “Prince of Bel Air”, and the unforgettable experience of working with the beloved Walter Matthau in “Mrs.Lambert Remembers Love”. Sherry’s favorite feature film credits include, “By the Sword” with F. Murray Abraham and playing the lovely Kirsten Dunst’s mother in the box office hit, “Bring it On”. Aside from her on-camera career, Sherry has also enjoyed working as a voice over artist, allowing her to utilize her diverse voice talents in such movies as: Shrek, Herbie-Fully Loaded, Madagascar, Freaky Friday, Country Bears, Howl’s Moving Castle, Princess Nausica, and Pom Poko to name a few.

Aside from her film and television career, Sherry is always involved in some way with music, whether it be a musical production in LA, New York, touring the country or in the studio. She has been fortunate to work with some of the greatest composers of our time. Sherry’s worked on many projects with the award winning team of Steve Dorff and John Bettis, including “Lunch”, her fondest musical theatre experience. She’s also worked side by side with William Finn to create the original role of the sweetheart for “In Tousers”. Barry Mann and music hall of famers Cynthia Weil and Randy Newman all worked very closely with Sherry to develop their projects, “Lovin’ Feelin” and “The Education of Randy Newman”.

Ms. Hursey has a strong desire to share her passion for music and dance with young people and has often coached, directed and choreographed at the high school and elementary levels. A decade ago, Ms. Hursey spread her wings and co-wrote a pilot with emmy award winning Douglas Bailey, which she also produced. This opportunity got her feet wet as a writer/producer. Sherry then began to develop her heart project, Lilly’s Light.  The pilot of Lilly’s Light aired on PBS and won a KIDSFIRST BEST AWARD! By the coalition for quality children’s media. The mission to raise awareness for fostering and adoption lead Sherry to form Lilly’s Fostering Hearts 501(c)(3), a media advocacy non-profit lillysfosteringhearts.org. Soon she was producing PSAs and interstitials for organizations supporting the challenges facing foster youth. Several years ago Sherry started Turning On the Light Entertainment TOtLEntertainment.com with her husband and partner Rick Cowling. Sherry’s heart and talents are being fully expressed producing totally positive music and media.
